William Harold VanGilder Obituary
We announce the death of William Harold VanGilder (Elkton, Maryland), who passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 84. William will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. He was predeceased by: his significant other Adaline Marie VanGilder; his parents, Jacob M. Vangilder and Reeva; and his son-in-law Billy Joe Bower. He is survived by: his children, William (Lisa), Cathy (Earl), Dawn and Shelia (Herbie); and his siblings, Paul, Kenneth, Larry (Punk), Rose, Patty and Betty Lou.
A graveside service was held on Wednesday, September 16th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Cherry Hill Methodist Cemetery (33 Elk Mills Rd, Elkton, MD 21921).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
