He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert David and Lillian Ebert Smith. He is survived by: his spouse Claire Horan Smith; his children, Christina, Andrew and Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Sebastian, Samantha, Nathaniel, Connor, Emmeline, Audrey and Colleen; and his brother David Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 17th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Harry H. Witzke's Family Funeral Home (4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the St. John Evangelist Roman Catholic Church - Wilde Lake Interfaith Center (10431 Twin Rivers Rd, Columbia, MD 21044). A reception was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
