We announce the death of Dorothy Raver (Ellicott City, Maryland), who passed away on June 26, 2026, at the age of 87. Dorothy will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Dorothy will be remembered for the impact she had on the lives of those around her. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Those who knew Dorothy will remember moments of kindness, warmth, and presence. Though words cannot fully capture her life, the legacy of connections and experiences remains. Dorothy’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued her companionship.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles H. Shaw and Ryda Shaw (Crook); and her children, Richard Jr. and Susan Ellen. She is survived by: her husband Richard; her son Jeffrey Allen Raver; and her son-in-law Mathew Gulick. She is also survived by numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
