He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Emil Vandermer and Betty Soles Vandermer. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Bray Vandermer; his children, John Emil Vandermer and Kimberly Vandermer Bloodworth of Birmingham, AL.; his grandchildren, Adele Tydings Bloodworth, Roy Warner Vandermer and Alexis Noel Vandermer; and his brothers, Kenneth Bruce Vandermer and Robert Paul Vandermer.
