She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Mary Margaret Smilanick and Andrew Charles Wittkop; her former husband William Walter Hauswirth; her sons, Cory Elizabeth Lauer and Matthew Aaron Hauswirth; her spouse Thomas Jay Smith; and her daughters, Andrea Smith Campbell and Rachel SungHee Smith. She was also cherished by seven grandsons.
