Leon J. Murphey Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Leon J. Murphey of Ellicott City, Maryland, born in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on May 6, 2023, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Joseph Murphey and Alma Lorene Murphey; his brothers, Lloyd Vincent Murphey, Paul Robert Murphey and John Timothy Murphey; and his former wife Mary Ann Murphey.
He is survived by: his sisters, Ann Lorene Murphey and Mary Christine Chambers; his girlfriend Ann Horner of Ellicott City, MD.; his great grandchildren, Olive Francis, Kenneth William, James Lee and Arthur Henry; his daughters, Patricia Walton and Tiffany Murphey (Mike Moran); his grandchildren, Bailey, Will, Jack and Mary Kate; and his great grandchild Jaime. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in memory of Leon Murphey may be made directly to the Johns Hopkins Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center to support research into finding a cure for Small Cell Lung Cancer.
