He was predeceased by: his siblings, Ruth Rettaliata, Patricia Taylor, Marie Wiedefeld, Eleanor Kelbaugh, Jean Grant, Thelma Ryall, Dorothy Sander and John A. Dorsey, Jr..

He is survived by: his wife Judith Dorsey; his children, Diane Williams (Michael), Rita Yow and Robert Dorsey Jr. (Shannon); his grandchildren, Christina Mitchell (Jonas), Carrie Leonard (Jeremiah), Daniel Williams (Ashley), Amber Dunbar (Joshua), Austin Dorsey and Alexis Dorsey; and his sisters, Mildred Todd and Margaret Rettaliata.
