He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn M. Stambaugh and Margaret Lescalleet Stambaugh; his wife Norma Jean Hickey Stambaugh; and his siblings, Doris Tregoning, Glenna Reid, Ralph M. Stambaugh Sr. and Charles Edward Stambaugh.
He is survived by: his children, Diane Close, Kathie Stambaugh (Rick Hartle), Carolyn Stoner (Kendall) and Joseph Stambaugh Jr. (Amy); his grandchildren, Chad Close (Alex), Hayden Stambaugh (Shannon), Brady Warner (Amanda), Nevin Stambaugh (Ivy), Cory Stoner and Audrey Rohwein (Reece); and his great grandchildren, Jase Warner, Ryan Close, Adelyn, Alaura Stambaugh, Elayne Rohwein and Braelynn Warner.
