He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Mitchell Swartz, Sr. (Lottie Mae) and Willow; his wife Ruth Genevieve "Blondie" Koontz; his son-in-law Ronald Metz; his sisters, Velma Weaver and Rita Oswald; and his brother-in-law Kenneth Koontz.
He is survived by: his children, Charles Swartz (Cathy) of South Carolina, Diane Keeney (Ronald) of Fairfield, PA, Douglas Swartz (Susan) of Gettysburg, PA and Michelle Metz of Emmitsburg; his sister Darlene Koontz of Emmitsburg; his grandchildren, Mitchell Keeney (Karissa Seivertson), Kimberly Swartz, Timothy Swartz, Kurstin Sanders (Devin) and Caitlyn Swartz; and his great grandchildren, Huntley Eugene and Dutton Gregory Sanders. He is also survived by great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home (210 W Main St, Emmitsburg, MD 21727). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
