With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Wayne Eugene Sanders of Emmitsburg, Maryland, who passed away on August 28, 2025 at the age of 80. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Wayne Eugene Sanders to pay them a last tribute.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Roy and Erma Virginia Sanders (Null); his children-in-law, Catherine Rose Sanders, Robert Francis Hance and Wesley J. Mumm; and his brothers, James Henry and David A. Sanders.
He is survived by: his children, David Brian Sanders, Dana Lee Hance, Tina Michelle Mumm and Dwayne Troy Sanders (Ann Elizabeth); his grandchildren, Damian Sanders-Baron, Crystal Rose, Amber Sanders and Brian; and his children, Robert Jr. Hance, Kenneth Parker and Arielle E. Mumm.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 10:30 AM. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Elias Evangelical Lutheran Church (100 W North Ave, Emmitsburg, MD 21727).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Wayne's memory to St. John's Lutheran Church, 15 N. Church St, Thurmont, MD 21788.
