He was predeceased by: his parents, James Abraham Stokes and Margaret Anna Stokes (Schurg); his siblings, James, William, Upton, Kenneth Stokes, Dora Bishop and Shirley "Jane" Smith; and his grandson Craig Stokes.
He is survived by: his children, Christopher Stokes (Angela) and Jennifer Stokes; his grandson Grady Stokes; and his siblings, Janet Stokes, Jeannette Miller, Patricia Leitzen and Robert Stokes. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Adams Family Funeral Home (404 Decatur St, Cumberland, MD 21502). A committal service will be held on Wednesday, September 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery (14205 Pleasant Valley Rd NE, Flintstone, MD 21530).
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Ervin's name to the VVA Chapter #172, 17 N. Liberty Street, Cumberland, MD, 21502.
