He was predeceased by: his parents, James C. Hicks, Sr. and Edna Hicks (Dixon). He is survived by: his wife Susan; his children, Vinh Le, Tuan Le, Van Le, Susan Marie Hicks Maddux, Long Le, James Edwin Hicks and Justin David Hicks; his foster daughter Kasmira Fox; and his sister Carolyn Hicks Rogers. He is also survived by 21 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
