She was predeceased by : her parents, Brennan William Asplen and Eileen Loretta Asplen (Funk); and her brother John Howard Asplen, Sr.. She is survived by : her husband Richard N. Dawson; her children, David Cox, Michael Cox (Missie), Joan Cox (Mare McCall) and John Cox (Casey); her grandchildren, Michael, Blake, Addison, Alexis and Bleyer; and her siblings, Mary Jean Smith, Brennan Asplen, Jr. (Beverly) and Joseph Asplen (Mary). She is also survived by family stepchildren and grandchildren.
