She is survived by: her children, James Jr. (Patricia), Mark (Cheron) and Tamara Neal (Douglas); her granddaughter Jordan Bates (Les); her great grandchildren, Austin and Brixton Bates; her siblings, Melissa Washington, Sally Tynes-Mboye (Heru), Shelia Moore (Steve), Ralph (Nancy), Roland (Gayle), Frank, Gilbert (Peggy), Gregory (Carol) and Allen Driver (Patricia); and her pet Honcho. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
She embodied the values of charity, truth, and kindness through her involvement in philanthropic activities that supported communities and promoted fellowship.
