She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Joseph C. Hemp and Cleo Edna Hemp; her husband Charles L. Alcorn; her daughter Jeanne; and her close friend Teddy (Maltese).
One of her most meaningful contributions to her alma mater was a generous gift that funded signage for the Greenbrier College Memorial Grove—a campus beautification project dedicated in 2022.
