She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel G. Layer and Dorothy V. Layer; her son LaMonte J. Oram; her sister Shirley Layer; and her grandparents, Lindsay, Margaret Ambush, George and Ada Layer.
She is survived by: her siblings, Samuel "Sampete" Layer, William "Sonnyboy" Layer (Jessie), Dorothy "Bubu" Jah (Thaddeus) and Chantal Henderson; her goddaughters, Toni Dorsey (Marty), Chyrell Griffith, Tamico Keene (Damon), India Keene and Dashanti Dorsey; her nieces and nephews, Dawn, April, Kawonia, Trisma, Samantha, Junior, Steven, Kim, Travis and Douglas; and her friends, Helen Hall and Dinah Layer. She is also survived by great nieces and nephews, dear cousins and friends.
