He was predeceased by: his parents, Amos Brown and Alma Dorsey Brown; his son Dwight Brown; and his siblings, Mary Brown, Amos Brown and Edward Brown.

He is survived by: his wife Corinthia Carroll Brown; his children, Cynthia Henderson of White Plains, MD, Charles Brown, Jr. (Michelle) of Frederick, MD and Annette Gray (Jimmy) of Ranson, WV; his grandchildren, Anthony Brown, Eric Boyce Sr., Erica Bond (Mervin), Anthony Lee (Nikki), Robert Davis, Turquoise Brown, Charles Brown III, Dykesha Chavers (Keysean), Jimmy Gray (Patty), Eric Gray (Jackie) and Jerome Gray (Tiffany); his sisters, Katherine Moore and Ruth Brown (Bernard); his brother-in-law Norman Carroll (Viola); and his godchildren, Danette Carroll Pickens, Monique Wilson (Nikki) and Jaron Brown-Jackson (Rah Rah). He is also survived by great grandchildren; 2 plus great great grandchildren.
