He was predeceased by: his parents, Irving John Henry Shankle Jr. and Mabel Louise Shankle (Cook); his brother Irving John Henry Shankle III; his friend Pierce "Sonny" Stine; Charlie Oakley and Megan.
He is survived by: his wife Sandra "Marie" Shankle (Bowman); his daughter Megan Elizabeth Shankle; his siblings, Nancy Smith (Richard) of Frederick, MD, Lewis William Shankle (Susan) of Mt. Airy, MD and Kenneth Shankle; his friends, Jim Hardy (Judy) and Jimmy Knill (Brenda); Terrie Oakley. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the American Legion (1450 Taney Ave, Frederick, MD 21702).
