She was predeceased by: her parents, William Kennedy and Mary Ellen Smallwood (Bostic); her stepfather Harry Smallwood, Sr.; her husband Charles F. "Peck" May; her daughter Mary Eileen Talley (May); and her siblings, Medora Riel (Smallwood) and Harry Smallwood, Jr..

She is survived by: her brother Restaurant Supply; her children, Linda S. Hollern (May) and Michael May; her granddaughter Terra Lynn Capps (Harrold Capps); her great grandchildren, Kody, Jack, Gillian and Mattis Capps; and her son-in-law Ronald Talley.
