He is survived by: his friends, Mary Sue and Richard Grossnickle; his children, Cindy Warner (Pete) of Frederick, Karen Cole (Kevin) of Lewistown, Douglas Long (Debbie) of Cascade, Jerry Schildt (Lori) of Shreveport, Patty Long-Young Hopkins (Rod) of Frederick, Becky Chaney (Lee) of Keymar and Dennis Long of Emmitsburg; his siblings, Gloriae Long Green of Thurmont, Raymond Long of Thurmont and Carole Beauchamp of Bisbee, Ariz.; his grandchildren, Heather Long, Jimmy Young (Heather Bell), Brittany Cole Albaugh (Dennis), D. J. Long (McKenna), Patrick Long, Tyler Cole (Mackenzie), Andrew Long (Amber), Kristi Jo Long Lewandowski (Chris), Morgan Cole Tyeryar (Ryan), David Young (McKaila), Rianna Chaney and Sheridan Chaney; and his great grandchildren, Ricky Moser, LeBron Barnes, Delaney, Braelyn, Caysen Albaugh, Tinsley, Rowland Young, Brantlee, Rhett Young, Gemma, Baylor Lewandowski, Tripp, Stevie Long, Jacob Cole, Bennett Tyeryar, Noah, Christopher Long, Alyssa, Damion Ridenour and Hannah Long. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Resthaven Funeral Home & Community Center (9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701). A wake will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church (10625 Old Frederick Rd, Thurmont, MD 21788). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Resthaven Memorial Gardens (9501 Catoctin Mountain Hwy, Frederick, MD 21701). A burial will be held on Saturday, December 20th 2025 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM at the same location.
