With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Helga Katharina Ebel of Frederick, Maryland, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Helga left this world on December 3, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Richard T. Ebel; her son Karl Walter Ebel; her siblings, Hans Schmidt and Margarethe Schmidt (Gretel); and her parents, Karl Schmidt and Mathilda Schmidt.
She is survived by: her children, Margarete Christina Donnelly (Neil), Martin Theodore Ebel (Monika), Richard Alexander Ebel (Kelley) and Paul Ulrich Ebel; and her grandchildren, Paul, Marlaina, Claire Donnelly, Aleksandr, Benjamin Incze-Ebel, Katherine and Elizabeth Ebel.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Evangelical Lutheran Church (31 E Church St, Frederick, MD 21701).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Daybreak, Frederick Health Hospice, or the American Indian College Fund.
