He was predeceased by: his parents, Bertha Schmidt and George William Hughes. He is survived by: his wife Carol Koth Thomas; his son Christopher Jarrett Hughes (Frances Lanell Hughes); his grandchildren, Reagan Kelley Hughes, Mackenzie Logan Hughes and Marissa Danelle Hughes (Caleb Eichenberger-Gay); and his son Kenneth Nathan Hughes (Amy Hughes).
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Olivet Cemetery (515 S Market St, Frederick, MD 21701).
