He was predeceased by: his parents, John Lawrence and Mary Frances Atkins (Kessler). He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Ann Atkins; his children, Jennifer Clements (Jason), James, John, Joseph and Denise D'Antuono (Vincente); his grandchildren, Carmela (Joe Thuente), Michael and Madeline; and his sister Susie Atkins Etter.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM and on Monday, September 14th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church (8428 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick, MD 21702). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, September 14th 2026 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
