We are sad to announce that, on August 3, 2021 we had to say goodbye to John S. Shafer of Frederick, Maryland. Leave a sympathy message to the family in the guestbook on this memorial page of John S. Shafer to show support.

He was predeceased by: his parents, F. Davis Shafer and Helen Wachtel Shafer; and his brothers, F. Davis Shafer II (Dave), Clyde Shafer (Skip) and Richard Shafer (Rick).

He is survived by: his wife Bette Ann Powers Shafer; his daughter Kimberly Madden (James) of Frederick; his grandchildren, Grant Madden (Karen Anselmo) and Ashley Szatmary (Kevin); his sisters, Su Sine of Walkersville and Karen Koogle of Middletown; and his siblings-in-law, Robert Powers and Jean Procino (Ron). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in John's memory to Frederick Health Hospital, in support of the Cardiac Services.
