He was predeceased by: his wife Faye; his sister Portia (William Murray); and his parents, Prentice Thornton and Theresa Thornton. He is survived by: his daughter Deborah Ann (Thomas Cera); his granddaughter Teresa (John Phelan); his great grandchildren, Carrigan (Sarah Strasser), Connor and Collin Phelan; his grandson Brian Cera (Heather); his great grandchildren, Cameron Bellison and Harper; his son Doug Thornton (Renée); and his grandchildren, Alexandra and Chandler. He is also survived by "Papa" by his family.
