She was predeceased by: her parents, Eric Charles Rust and Helen Kenn Rust; her husband Joseph M Smith; her brother David C Rust; and her son-in-law Don L Rondeau.
She is survived by: her children, Bryan E Smith (Jacqueline) and Karen E Smith; her grandchildren, Olivia M Rondeau, Jacqueline E Rondeau and Donovan E Rondeau; her sister Christine Rust Bates (Ken) of Hickory, NC; and her siblings-in-law, Robert C Smith (Lynda) of Fort Worth, TX and Linda Leeds Rust of Hockessin, DE.. She is also survived by 6 nieces/nephews and 15 great nieces/nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 2nd 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Montgomery Hills Baptist Church (9727 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910).
