She was predeceased by: her parents, Seth K. Schnebly and Genevieve Schnebly (Beckley); her husband James Garst; and her father-in-law Denton Garst. She is survived by: her children, Lindsey McInerney (Mitch) of San Diego, California, Lisa Chakalis (Tony) of Middletown, Maryland and Lucas Garst of Frederick, Maryland.; her grandchildren, Branch, Ryder, Navy Chakalis, Blair and Margot McInerney; her brothers, Bill Schnebly (Susie) of Clear Spring, Maryland and John Schnebly (Pam) of Clear Spring, Maryland; her mother-in-law Peggy Garst; and her siblings-in-law, Linda Bruchey (Charles), Nancy Hawkins (Bill) and Kenny Garst (Peggy Sue) of Frederick, Maryland. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 18th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Frederick Church of the Brethren (201 Fairview Ave, Frederick, MD 21701). A funeral service was held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Living, Inc., of Frederick, Maryland, in Honor of Lucas Garst.
