With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Frances Powell of Frederick, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on May 9, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Isaac Rigdon and Olla Mae McLeod West; her husband Frederick E. Powell, Sr.; her son Frederick E. Powell, Jr. of Columbia, MO; and her siblings, Barbara Ann West of Augusta, GA, William Rigdon West (Estelle Courson) and Edgar Leroy West.

She is survived by: her daughters, Mary Lee Powell (Gerald Boyd, Jr.) of Vienna, VA, Terri Powell, Pat Powell and Rebecca Myles of Hedgesville, WV.; and her grandchildren, Justin Baer (Megan Baer) of Boonesboro, MD, Rachel Baer of Pineville, WV, Shawn Powell (Nichole Powell) of Leland, NC and Christopher Powell (Andrea Powell) of Halethorpe, MD. She is also survived by two great-grandchildren.

Rather than flowers or other memorial contributions, Mary Frances has asked that donations be made to St. Vincent Archabbey, 300 Fraser Purchase Road, Latrobe, PA 15650-2686, c/o Reverend Donald Raila, O.S.B.; and/or St. John Catholic Church, Frederick, MD; and/or The Salvation Army of Frederick, MD.
