He was predeceased by: his parents, Addison Hoyt Smith and Pattie Lou Smith (Leonard); and his son Ronald Ellis Smith, Jr.. He is survived by: his wife Jo Smith (Jo); his sister Jaqueline Bailey (Mickey); his children, Laura Kight (Rusty) and Alex Smith (Mary); his grandchildren, Russell Kight (Ashley), Tyler Kight (Katelyn), Amber Walton (Reece), Ryan Kight and Alexandra Smith; and his great grandchildren, Logan Kight, Sadie Kight and Karina Lopez.
