It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirlee Leithauser of Frederick, Maryland, who passed away on July 22, 2025, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Lewis Joseph Leithauser; her parents, William H. Smitzel and Mary Emily Smitzel (Meade); and her grandson Jacob Leithauser. She is survived by: her children, Nancy Dukes (William) of Charles Town, WV and Jeffrey Leithauser (Cecelia) of Port Charlotte, FL; her grandchildren, Michael, Gillian, Kaitlin, Andrew, Kylie and Derek; and her sister Peggy Mahoney of Baltimore. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
