He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Richard and Corolla Platter, Sr. (Weimer); his wife Sylvia Melissa Platter (McMillan); and his siblings, William Platter and Mary Grabenstein.
He is survived by: his children, Howard "Howie" Platter, III, Laura Platter and Amy Dugan; and his grandchildren, Trent Stanton, Lakin Watts, Adam Platter and Andrew Platter.
