She was predeceased by: her brothers, John Gattens and Dick Gattens; and her nephew Steve O'Haver. She is survived by: her children, Jeremy Lavin (Laura) and Jennifer Tharp (Jason); her granddaughter Rylee McKenzie; her siblings, Charles Gatten (Shirley), Sharon Wright (Bob) and Cindy Youngblood (Harry); and her pets, Little Man, Missy Moo, Lucy and Willow.

Viewing was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Durst Funeral Home (57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD 21532). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 1:20 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, September 25th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Restlawn Memorial Gardens (11128 Cash Valley Rd NW, La Vale, MD 21502).
