We are sad to announce that on October 1, 2025, at the age of 62, Cathleen Diaz Plúguez (Gaithersburg, Maryland), born in New York, New York passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though Cathleen may no longer walk beside us, her memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Cathleen touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In her absence, her spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
She is survived by: her parents, Primitivo "Johnny" Diaz and Marta Cruz; her son Ryan M. Magusiak (Tairi); her husband Dimas; her grandsons, Gavin and Noah; her mother-in-law Teresa; and her brothers, John and Orlando. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the DeVol Funeral Home (10 E Deer Park Dr, Gaithersburg, MD 20877). A funeral service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the St Martin of Tours Church (201 S Frederick Ave, Gaithersburg, MD 20877). A committal service will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 from 1:30 PM to 2:00 PM at the All Souls Cemetery (11401 Brink Rd, Germantown, MD 20876). A burial will be held on Monday, October 13th 2025 at the same location.
