With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Katherine Davis Penn of Gaithersburg, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 19, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Mary Katherine farewell, let us not mourn the absence of her physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of her spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Mary Katherine is not truly gone, but merely transformed, her energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Louise Davis (Roads) and Russell E. Davis (Edgar Revell Penn); her sister Martha Ellen Aisquith; and her son George Russell Penn. She is survived by: her husband Edgar Revell Penn; her granddaughter Nicole Pope; her brother William Russell Davis (Patty); and her children, Mary Louise Metzger (Michael) and Michael Revell Penn (Vivian). She is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church in her memory.
