She was predeceased by : her father James Machen; and her sister Annie McLoughlin. She is survived by : her mother Iva Smallwood (Woodward); her husband Mark Sweet; her daughters, Haley and L. Sweet; her daughter-in-law Jennifer Roth; her brother Robert Smallwood; her brother-in-law Jim Sweet; and her mother-in-law Betty Sweet.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 13th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Darnestown Presbyterian Church (15120 Turkey Foot Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878). A graveside service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at the same location.
