It is with sadness that the passing of Joseph David Irr of Galena, Maryland is shared. Joseph, born on September 19, 1934, passed away on September 15, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Joseph will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Joseph by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Joseph is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Joseph’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph T. Irr and Margaret McDonald Irr; and his sister Jean Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Mickey Irr; his children, Caren Irr of Cambridge, MA and Hans Irr (Dianne) of Bethlehem, PA; and his grandchildren, Alexandra Newins (Patrick), Taylor Irr, Ryan Irr and Tenley Irr.
A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen (118 W Cross St, Galena, MD 21635).
To honor his life, in lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Lions Club Christmas Basket, Maryland Food Bank or the Galena Volunteer Fire Company.
