He was predeceased by: his parents, Clifford Gsell and Ruth Harrington Gsell; his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Gsell; his brother James Gsell (Charity); and his brother-in-law Tommy Unruh.
He is survived by: his children, Todd Gsell (Tanya) of Townsend and Tammy Gsell-Cannon (Richard) of Church Hill, Maryland; his granddaughter Breleigh Cannon; and his siblings, Joseph Gsell (Portia) of Chestertown, William Gsell (Linda) of Salisbury and Patricia Unruh of Chestertown, Maryland..
