With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Bernice Gies Bernstein of Gambrills, Maryland, born in Annapolis, Maryland, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 20, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Walter Gerard Gies and Regina Madeleine Gies; her husband Charles William Bernstein (Bill); and her siblings, Miriam Boschert, Joanne Dowgwillo, Eileen Malagari, Walter Fairley Gies, Donald Gies, Roland Gies, Ralph Gies and Eugene Gies.

She is survived by : her daughters, Carrie Shahady (Joseph) and Andrea Louth (Jason); her grandchildren, Connor Shahady, Madeleine Shahady, Preston Louth and Blake Louth; and her sisters, Theresa Rosemary Prophet and Jeannette Connelly.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Hardesty Funeral Home - Gambrills (851 Annapolis Rd, Gambrills, MD 21054). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, May 1st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of the Fields Catholic Church (1070 Cecil Ave S, Millersville, MD 21108).
