He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Volodymyr Stetkevych and Anna Medicky; his siblings, Dr. Alexander Stetkevych and Bohdana Melnychuk; his wife Suzanne Pinckney Stetkevych; his sons, George Stetkevych (Judy Dunscomb) and Gonzalo Stetkevych (Lillian Rangel); and his grandchildren, Alyssa, Katherine, Nicholas, Robert and Andrew. He was also cherished by three sons.

He was a giant in the field of Arabic literature and left a great legacy in the students who trained at his feet. He will be sorely missed.”
