He was predeceased by: his father John Bruce Thomas; his grandparents, Priscilla, William McMillian and Ruby Thomas; his uncle David William Eugene Thompson; and his aunt Dorothea Green.
He is survived by: his mother Bonnie Lorraine Thomas (Rich); his brother John G. Thomas; his stepdaughters, Finley and Grace; his grandfathers, Kenneth Thompson of Virginia and Gordon Thomas of Virginia; and his aunts and uncles, Stewart Thomas (Kathy) of Virginia, Craig Thomas of Virginia, Wesley Thompson (Joyce) of Virginia, Shannon Hardy (Greg) of Colorado, Roxanna Johnson of Illinois, Elana Schlichting of Illinois and Donna Frazer (Russell) of Illinois. He is also survived by several cousins and other family members.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA 22116-7023.
