He was predeceased by : his parents, Irene Mae Perry (Gilgan) and Robert Nicholson Perry; his wife Shirley Jean (Page); his sister Carol Lynne Perry; and his daughter Pamela Jean Gates (Perry).

He is survived by : his daughter Lynne Marie Whittington (Arthur Hurst Whittington III); and his grandchildren, Jeremy Gates, Michelle Newland, Sherry Edwards and Cameron Whittington. He is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was held on Thursday, September 28th 2023 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kirkley-Ruddick Funeral Home (421 Crain Hwy S, Glen Burnie, MD 21061). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 29th 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
