We bid farewell to John E. Lewis (Greenbelt, Maryland), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on May 17, 2025 at the age of 78. John touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Abraham Lewis and Inez Manning Lewis; his sisters, Merlyn Fowler, Diane Magruder, Lora Dyson (Joseph) and Stephanie Lewis; his nieces and nephews, Shemayne Hooks, Sherie Dyson, Arrik Magruder, Christopher Hooks (Tamika), Kyle Magruder, Anthony Lewis and Aaron Lewis (Trenicia); his godchildren, Lorie Henley, Christopher Hooks (Tamika) and Sherie Dyson; and his friends, Paula Duckett, Stephanie Holland and Theodore Mavritte. He was also cherished by Several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Zion Church (8829 Greenbelt Rd, Greenbelt, MD 20770). A funeral service was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Zion Baptist Church (4850 Blagden Ave NW, Washington, DC 20011).
