“Russell and Jeramie, you may remember me as a long time friend of Brenda's. We met in a women's consciousness raising group organized by the U of M Women's Center around 1972. Brenda and I were very close back then. Several summers I lived with her while on break from my jobs in Florida and later Iowa. She was brave and funny and smart and insightful and kind. I just learned of her death, and I have made a memorial contribution of $50 to the National Organization for Women. Love, Kathy Hickok”
