She was predeceased by: her father Albert Dencil Fortney; her brother Adam Fortney; and her pet Katana. She is survived by: her mother Cynthia Diana McQuain Fortney; her boyfriend Michael Williams; her godchildren, Trevon and King Williams; her siblings, Aaron, Ryan and Leah Fortney; her nephew Austin; and her stepmother Tena. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Stover Funeral Home (177 N Holliday St, Strasburg, VA 22657). A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of memorial contributions to an animal rescue in memory of Brittney.
