With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Cora Marie Horst of Hagerstown, Maryland, who passed away on April 22, 2025 at the age of 100. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Cora Marie Horst to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Adin Risser and Ida Risser; her husband Edgar Horst; and her siblings, Ethel Showalter, Lois Horst, Benjamin Risser and Esther Risser.

She is survived by: her children, Esther Smith (William) of Monrovia, MD, Mary Lois Doub (late Garry) of Greencastle, PA and Clarence Horst (Kathy) of Maugansville, MD.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cora's name to Cumberland Valley Relief Center, 4225 Molly Pitcher Hwy., Chambersburg, PA 17202.

“Sorry, to hear of Cora's passing but I am sure; she is happy to be reunited with her spouse, Edgar. Bob and I was her neighbor for 19 years; before we moved to Florida. We shared so much. She joined us in roasting marshmallows over burning leaves and wood; under the maple tree between us. She supplied us with fresh tomatoes and other homegrown vegetables all summer. Edgar and Cora would get in their car and drive the 2 minute drive up to our house Christmas morning; to exchange gifts. Love!”
