He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster Bowers, Sr. and Sarah Bowers (Hoover); his wife Mae Bowers; his siblings, Marcella Kirby, Sarah Hoch, Phyllis Turner, Thomas Bowers, Donald Bowers, Norman Bowers, Foster Bower, Jr., Orville Bowers, Paul Bowers, Joseph Bowers and Phillip Bowers; and his stepdaughter JoEllen Semler.
He is survived by: his daughter Kellie Root (John Root); his stepchildren, Keith Semler and Linda Domer; and his grandchildren, Lorah Brooks, Daniel Nye, Joe Semler, Kate Leydecker, Caleb Root and Jenna Root. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, October 11th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Paramount Baptist Church (13234 Marsh Pike, Hagerstown, MD 21742).
