She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Carpenter and Ruth Carpenter; her son-in-law Eugene Holland; and her sons, Rick and Terry.
She is survived by: her former husband Richard Yost (Bud); her husband Jack Near of Hagerstown; her children, Daryl Yost (Edna), Sheri Yeakle (John), Lee Ann Aikens (Ron), Jay Near (Heather) and Peggy Ashton (Chip); and her siblings, Robert Carpenter (Linda), Nancy Zimmerman, Sally Shepley and Amy Snyder. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was held on Wednesday, February 25th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM and at 12:00 PM. A burial was held on Wednesday, February 25th 2026 at the Cedar Lawn Memorial Park (17636 W Washington St, Hagerstown, MD 21740).
