He was predeceased by: his parents, Donald H. Newkirk and Frances Angle Vanden; and his brother William Newkirk (Bill). He is survived by: his wife Nancy J. Newkirk (Shrader); his son Jack Angle Newkirk II (Amy Rupert Newkirk) of Middletown; his grandchildren, Jack A. Newkirk III and Morgan; and his brother-in-law Steven William Shrader (Leila). He is also survived by two nieces and two nephews; numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Shriners Childrens Hospital, 3551 N. Broad St., Philadelphia, PA 19140, or St. Paul's Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 148, Funkstown, MD 21734.
