He is survived by: his wife Patricia "Pat" Mims; his children, Jamie Warren (Kevin), James Frisby (Denise), Sabu Brown and Akelli Brown (Atiya); his siblings, Shedrick, Dale, Avis, Rodger, Alan, Andrea, Angela E., Angela P., Diana and Sylvia; and his siblings-in-law, Thomas Frisby (Connie), Paul Ramsey, Sharon Gingrich (Kenneth) and Michelle Whitney (John). He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, God-daughters, and numerous other relatives and friends.
