He was predeceased by: his parents, James Everett Lowry and Pauline Edna Haskins. He is survived by: his wife Mattie Troyer; his children, Rebecca (Dale Martin) of Hagerstown, Enoch (Amanda) of Hagerstown, Abigail (Cecil Martin) of Hagerstown, Isaac (Rhoda) of Falling Waters, WV and Seth (Doreen) of Clearville, PA; and his brother William D. Bell of Canton. He is also survived by twenty-nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
